The Last British Man To Win Wimbledon Is Saying Goodbye
After undergoing surgery for a spinal cyst on Saturday, three-time grand slam champion Andy Murray has announced that he will retire after playing at the All England Club this year.
Murray, a 37-year-old from Scotland, has said he will head into retirement after playing at the All England Club this year. He is the last British man to win Wimbledon, having triumphed in 2013 and 2016.
Murray's withdrawal from Wimbledon came five years after the Brit planned to end his career at the tournament in 2019. However, he was forced to delay his retirement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Murray retired from his second-round match at the cinch Championships against Jordan Thompson on Tuesday.
